Start a Conversation How We WorkOur Approach
We apply the doctrine of Unconventional Warfare to the defense marketplace. Just as Special Forces embed with indigenous forces to understand their goals, resources, and challenges, then reach back to higher command for support, we embed with your business and reach into our network to deliver exactly what you need.
U.S. Army Doctrine
"Unconventional warfare consists of activities conducted to enable a resistance movement or insurgency to coerce, disrupt, or overthrow a government or occupying power by operating through or with an underground, auxiliary, and guerrilla force in a denied or politically sensitive environment."
JP 3-05 / Army Doctrine Publication 3-05
We learn your business from the inside: your capabilities, your gaps, and your strategic objectives. That depth of understanding is what allows us to represent you authentically in every conversation.
We assemble the right team for your mission: lobbyists, subject matter experts, contracting specialists, and global partners. Every element drawn from a network maintained daily.
From program offices to the halls of Congress, we coordinate across all competency areas to create access, intelligence, and outcomes that move your business forward.
Everything we do is anchored to the U.S. National Security Strategy, ensuring your business goals and the nation's defense priorities are pointing in the same direction.

Why Montagnard
The defense market rewards experience, relationships, and precision. Here is what sets Montagnard Consulting apart.
We understand how technology is actually used in the field. Our collective experience across all domains means we can speak authentically to end users, program managers, and acquisition officials about what matters and what doesn't.
Our experts coordinate across every competency area. Market intelligence, new funding streams, and key contacts are shared internally so the benefit of the full network flows to every client engagement.
Our relationships are maintained daily, not dusted off when a client needs them. That means actionable access into the national security apparatus, when you need it, at the right level.
We take time to learn your business from the inside. The more we understand your capabilities and goals, the more effectively we can represent you in conversations with officials, program offices, and Congress.
In lobbying, we combine legislative affairs expertise with operational credibility. We bridge the gap between the warfighter and the legislator, elevating the voice of the front line to the halls of Congress.
We build engagements around your objectives, not the other way around. Our packages and capabilities are designed to be mixed, matched, and scaled to fit your mission at any stage. The goal is always the same: equip the warfighter with the best capabilities available while driving business success for our clients. How we get there is a collaborative effort.

The name Montagnard is not incidental.
The Montagnard people of the Central Highlands of Vietnam were the indigenous partner force of U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. They fought alongside Green Berets in the hills and jungles of Southeast Asia, running operations into denied territory under some of the most demanding conditions of that conflict. Their courage, loyalty, and effectiveness made them the defining partner force of a generation.
Most of my mentors were from that generation. They were Green Berets who learned Unconventional Warfare not from a classroom but from the terrain itself, running missions with the Montagnard people through the highlands of Vietnam and the surrounding operational areas. What they passed on to me was not just doctrine. It was a way of thinking: that the most capable force in the world becomes more capable still when it deeply understands, trusts, and works alongside a partner who knows the ground.
That lesson does not belong to one war. In every era of Special Forces history, there is a partner force that defines what Unconventional Warfare looks like for the soldiers of that time. The terrain changes. The principle does not.
I founded Montagnard Consulting to carry that principle forward. Small businesses with transformative defense technologies deserve the same access to the national security apparatus that large primes take for granted. The way we close that gap is the same way it has always been closed in the field: we embed, we listen, we learn your terrain, and we reach back to assemble exactly what the mission requires.
